This PowerPoint lecture and Note Guide document for students to fill in can be used as an introduction to the field of Forensic Science. I use this in my 12th grade Forensics course but it could be used in any science class as part of a Forensics unit or a discussion of Forensics as a career.
This presentation introduces the different disciplines within the field of Forensics, some of the historical contributions to the field, and takes students through the Daubert Approach, Frye Standard, and Rule 702 of Federal Regulation which define what is admissible as evidence in court.
This lecture normally takes 1hr but can be longer or shorter based on class discussion of the topics throughout.
