Description

This interactive and hands-on sorting activity will allow your students to differentiate between many different examples of energy. Nine forms of energy are used: Light, Heat, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Sound, Gravitational, Elastic, Nuclear energy. This is a great way to help students think critically about, visualize and understand the forms of energy!

This product includes:

  • Three sorting worksheets each with 3 of the forms of energy.
  • With each blank worksheet comes a worksheet with definitions and pictures in boxes. Students cut these out and put them into the correct category (which form of energy they represent).
  • Sorts are set up so that you can do 3 forms of energy at a time or do all nine at once!
  • A vocabulary review application project where students use the sort words in a diagram, story or comic strip.
  • ENERGY LOG where students track all the things they do that uses energy and determines which type they are using.
  • Energy Scavenger Hunt where students try to find as many different forms of energy as they can in their everyday lives.
