This is a great resource that lays out fraction concepts in the order in which they should be taught. I used this with 5th grade intervention students and this packet provided me with more than enough to teach the entire fraction unit. Theses worksheets break down the fraction concepts in a way that is easy to understand and is very visual. I've used this resource for several years now.

This is a great resource for my small group instruction for students with learning disabilities and mild intellectual disabilities. It helped us review fractions before they needed to start adding/subtracting and multiplying/dividing them.

I used this with my intervention group to refresh all things fractions. My students like to say that they never learned fractions in 4th grade, and this was a necessary piece to build the foundation for upper grade standards.

The visuals are a great way to reinforce the concepts! I did need to add supplemental materials to allow students additional practice so that they could show independence.

Explain why a fraction ๐˜ข/๐˜ฃ is equivalent to a fraction (๐˜ฏ ร— ๐˜ข)/(๐˜ฏ ร— ๐˜ฃ) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions.
Compare two fractions with different numerators and different denominators, e.g., by creating common denominators or numerators, or by comparing to a benchmark fraction such as 1/2. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two fractions refer to the same whole. Record the results of comparisons with symbols >, =, or <, and justify the conclusions, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
