Description

This activity provides great practice with sorting and categorizing common fractions with visual images, reinforcing students' conceptual understanding of fractions. There are 8 different sorts including halves, thirds, fourths, fifths, sixths, eights and tenths. Students cut out the fraction cards and tape or glue them into the correct categories on the following page.

These can be used as a center activity, homework, classwork, morning warm-up, partner work, etc. Each sort comes with an enlarged version of the cards to use in a pocket chart with the whole class.

This was a great set of resources for my students who were still struggling with fraction identification. Even 4th graders still love the opportunity to cut and paste!
