This file contains both of my fraction and decimal number line files. I use these as problem-solving activities during our fraction and decimal units. Students are given a strip of paper that is set up like a number line. They are asked to correctly place fractions and decimals on the number line. In the process, they need to use their knowledge of comparing, ordering, and converting (fractions and decimals). We first do the fraction activity and then I give them the same number line weeks later to place decimals on. This allows them to use their knowledge of converting fractions to decimals and vice versa.
