Description

Do your students have trouble writing interesting sentences? If so, you can use these spring-themed task cards as starter sentences for them to expand and revise with details. One set of sentences deals with signs of spring in nature, and the other includes sentences about springtime activities. Both sets are available in color as well as black and white.

Check out Sentence Go Round!

These starter sentences were originally designed to be used with the lessons in Sentence Go Round, a resource that includes step-by-step directions for an interactive and fun lesson for teaching kids how to write more creative and interesting sentences. You can also find the directions for this activity in my blog article Teaching Kids to Write Super Sentences.

My student used these sentences to practice adding details in their writing. I am also leaving some of these cards in a sub folder so they can practice expanding and elaborating.
