When I created this packet, I didn’t actually intend to post it as a product, but after using it in my classroom I changed my mind. As students explore math concepts it is important to provide them with manipulative to help them understand a problem, but getting the manipulatives out and making sure that everyone has enough can sometimes be a hassle. I think this is one of the reasons I ended up liking this activity so much. I was able to easily provide each student with their own frogs; they were able to keep them at their desk; the frogs didn’t take up much space; and they are easy to access whenever I need students to use them.

This Frog Word Problem set includes 6 practice pages and a blank set that you can use to add the numbers of your choice. The word problems have a repetitive frame in which only the numbers change. This was done intentionally in order to help students focus on the change in math words and structure vs the changing of the story. The set also includes frog counters and a math strategy page.
