Hello fellow educator!
Writing is usually something that teachers feel a great deal of confidence in, or a great deal of frustration. Over the years, I've developed a system that works for me--particularly in my first grade classroom. I move students through six different stages of writing with this tool--brainstorming, drafting, editing, revising, conferencing and publishing. In my classroom, I keep writing like this in a portfolio to progress monitor my students as they are achieving their writing goals. They store easily in a regular 8 x 11 file folder! The students work through a writing process.
This download includes all the paper based resources I use in my apple themed writing unit.
- Two sets of differentiated worksheets for each of the three types of first grade writing (opinion, informational, and narrative).
- An optional apple craft for publishing
I have several seasonal writing sets!
