Description

Fruity Math Problems is a fun and interactive resource scaffolded to address the needs of special education students. The resource is not grade specific, but rather abilities specific and geared towards a moderate to severe environment. There are three levels of difficulty in the task cards. The first set of cards is worded in a very basic way and has pictures to accompany the math problem. The second set of cards has images to help but contains more complex wording. The third set of task cards does not contain images to help with the math. Students will use the fruits to velcro onto the blue plate to solve the fruity math problems. Included are flash cards with each fruit and the name of each fruit for students to use as a reference if they need the assistance. Students who have difficulties in finding the fruit can begin by matching all of the fruit on the reference cards on the plate with the assistance of a teacher or aide. This activity can even be adjusted in other ways creatively such as printing out two copies of the reference cards to play memory or using the fruit for sorting and learn colors. This resource is very versatile and eye catching for students.
