Description

This resource is a composition of functions word problem project for Algebra through Pre-Calculus in which students apply their knowledge of composite functions to a real life example.

Through this project based learning activity, students:

  • Create their own word problem that has two discounts being applied
  • Solve their word problem
  • Design an advertisement for their scenario
  • Write a summary explaining the importance of understanding composite functions and discount order.

In my own classroom, students complete a project every marking period. The projects are routinely my students' favorite part of class because it allows them to creatively display their understanding!
