Description

An engaging math escape room for finding GCF. This is a GCF ONLY version of GCF and LCM Digital Math Escape Room. Students must unlock 5 locks through finding the Greatest Common Factor of 20 number pairs less than 100. Questions are grouped 4 per puzzle, resulting in five 4-letter codes that will unlock all 5 locks.

The entire activity is housed in one GOOGLE Form. There are no links to outside websites. The 4-letter codes are set with answer validation so that students cannot move to the next puzzle until they enter the correct code. Includes answer key.

To add the digital escape room to your Google Drive: please open the PDF and click the button on page 3.

A printable PDF version has also been added to the file. Students can work in groups, each group starting at a different puzzle. Once done, students check the NEXT STEP box for which puzzle to visit next.

These materials sparked noticeable engagement across my classroom, including students who typically struggle with academics or behavior. The structure is clear, the routines are predictable, and the activities invite meaningful participation. I appreciated how easy it was to adapt for different readiness levels while keeping everyone on the same page. My students were more on-task, more talkative in productive ways, and more willing to take academic risks. I also saw smoother transitions and fewer redirections because expectations were built into the flow. Prep was minimal, directions were straightforward, and everything fit into my existing plans without extra stress. The flexibility let me pull quick small groups, offer choice, and still keep the rest of the class meaningfully engaged. Overall, these resources saved me time and increased the quality of learning moments every day. Thank you for helping me focus on teaching, relationships, and joy instead of endless planning and paperwork!

I used this along with the unit in algebra of finding GCMF as a precursor. My students ask and/or suggest that I assign escape rooms (from Ms. McKay!) --they like them so much

Kids love the independence of escape rooms. Teachers love the fact that they can also require the paper work to be turned in! Also love the digital vs. print options. They are laminated and ready to go for the new year! Thanks.
