Description

Geometry vocab and concepts related to lines and angles are the focus of these print and self-checking digital task cards. Quick quiz in Forms is also included.

Check out the Preview to see what's included and to see how the self-checking digital task cards work.

The easy-prep print version of Geometry Footloose includes:

  • 30 Geometry task cards (a set with a background and a set without)
  • Footloose grid
  • Answer key
  • Instructions

PDF for the digital resource includes:

  • Link to task cards in Slides (same 30 questions as Footloose)
  • Paper recording sheet
  • Link to quick quiz in Forms (10 questions)
  • Instructions for cards and for quiz

The geometry task cards and quiz require students to:

  • Identify types of angles (acute, obtuse, right, straight, complementary, supplementary, vertical, adjacent)
  • Identify points, lines, line segments, rays, and perpendicular and parallel lines
  • Recognize angle measure as additive

Using the self-checking Google Task Cards:

  • Each card has answer choices in colored boxes – these are clickable.
  • Students just need to select their answer and they’ll move to a feedback slide, which will tell them if their answer was correct or incorrect.

Students should view digital version in Presentation Mode:

  • When students choose their answer in presentation mode, they’ll automatically be taken to a “Correct” or “Incorrect” slide, so they’ll receive immediate feedback.
  • Students can use the Back button to go back and review the question, and they could then try again.
  • The Next button on the Correct/Incorrect slides takes students to the next task card.

What teachers have to say about the Geometry Task Cards:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"This is a great activity and gives immediate feedback!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"Thank you so much! I love what a simple activity it is, and yet it provides great practice! Getting the kids active is a HUGE part of my goal in the Resource Center!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I used this as a center activity at the end of last year. My middle school students enjoyed it."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "This is a great review activity. Students are getting a lot of practice, but since it's so fun, they don't even realize it. :)"

Recognize angle measure as additive. When an angle is decomposed into non-overlapping parts, the angle measure of the whole is the sum of the angle measures of the parts. Solve addition and subtraction problems to find unknown angles on a diagram in real world and mathematical problems, e.g., by using an equation with a symbol for the unknown angle measure.
Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.
Use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles in a multi-step problem to write and solve simple equations for an unknown angle in a figure.
