I created this as a math extension--perfect for the end of the year, end of a unit, time filler activity, before spring break, etc. Each student received the following handout and learned about the project before we took a walk around our building together...stopping along the way for students to complete the attached table. Students were then put into groups to share the math they located in our school. With those groups they were then sent out around the building (after having a plan) to photograph the "math" they found. The groups then worked together to create a PowerPoint presentation, explaining their pictures and their thinking.
