Description

Make geometry review fun and engaging with this whole-class Geometry Loop Card Game!

This interactive geometry review game provides an excellent cumulative practice of geometry vocabulary related to polygons and quadrilaterals. Students must listen carefully, think critically, and use their geometry term knowledge to keep the loop going until all cards are matched correctly!

The set includes 24 loop cards, making it perfect for whole-class participation.

  • For smaller classes (fewer than 24 students), give some students more than one card as an extra challenge.
  • For larger classes, simply print two copies and have students compete in two teams—the first team to complete the loop wins!

This print-and-go geometry activity is ideal for:
✔️ Whole-class review and test prep
✔️ Math centers or early finisher activities
✔️ Cooperative learning and small groups
✔️ Reinforcing geometry vocabulary and listening skills

Teachers love how this Geometry Loop Card Math Game promotes active learning, teamwork, and vocabulary mastery—all while making review time engaging and fun!

How to Play:

Start the Game:

    • One student will start by reading the clue on their card aloud.

Listening for the Response:

    • The rest of the students listen carefully to see if they have the matching response. If a student has a card that answers the clue, they should read their response card aloud.

Continue the Loop:

    • After the second student reads their response, they will read the clue on their card. The next student must listen for a matching response and continue the game. The game continues in this pattern.

Loop Completion:

    • The game is over when the loop completes correctly, meaning the last card ties back to the first clue. If done correctly, everyone will have read their card and the clues and responses will match.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
