Description
This is a summative, project based EDITABLE assessment geometry math project that uses the formulas for area, perimeter, circumference, and volume with problem solving being the key component. In the original resource, seven plane and solid real-life geometry problems are presented which involve the construction of four different swimming pools. Students must sketch each problem as well as use the correct formula to solve each problem.
Complete project directions are provided for the student. Using the clues given, and applying the correct formulas, students are to solve each problem. The students then present the project to the class as a power point (I prefer this one) or as a hand written assignment. This can be an outside-of-class project or class time may be provided to complete the assignment.
A grading rubric for the entire project is attached as well as a four level rubric for assessing the student's problem solving ability. Complete answers that show all of the work are also included in the complete handout.
This project is not saved in a PDF format so you can make changes that are appropriate for your classroom.
