After a Covid year and not really knowing how much my students have actually learned, or lack of learning, I decided to pull this assignment out just to see exactly where the skill levels were for every student. What a GREAT lesson this was! Surprisingly, my Middle Schoolers were challenged, so I decided to use it on my 5th graders as well but I broke it up into two different lessons. (it worked great that way) I will definitely use this for the new 5th graders next year.
