* 16 printable riddle cards, with riddles for brain, heart, legs, chin, eyes, elbow, hair, nose, foot, toes, lungs, fingers, stomach, wrist, teeth, and ears.
* 16 answer cards with only pictures
* 16 answer cards with a picture and sentence
* A writing template to guide your students in creating their own riddles. Use your riddles to create performances, extending the learning experiences into speaking and listening.
* Eight cards to play vocabulary bingo in small groups and literacy centers
Here are some ideas for using these human body riddles and activities with your own class!.
* As a whole class or small group activity, to demonstrate how to integrate the information in the clues and use the information to eliminate incorrect choices
* As a pocket chart center matching activity with the picture cards or picture/word cards
* As a whole class activity on your interactive board, modeling early comprehension skills
* As a small group, partner, or literacy center game, with the eight game boards that are included (using the same vocabulary)
* As the basis for a riddle-writing activity with the included writing template
Solve a riddle a day every day to give your students daily practice inferring, identifying and answering key questions, and building vocabulary. These riddles are a form of informational text. They're also great for developing active listening skills! Solving riddles is a fun-filled and engaging way to lay the groundwork for early comprehension skills!
