While it was extremely time consuming, I spent hours laminating and cutting each puzzle piece out and I am so glad I did! I have used these pieces for six years now in my classroom, and the students love interacting and engaging with them. I love that they have since added a digital option, but I do like the collaborating that happens with the screen-free option. I highly recommend taking the time to laminate because the edges will get bent with a lot of use.
