This Making Inferences Informational Text resource has been a great tool for strengthening my students’ inferencing skills. The nonfiction passages are engaging and give students meaningful opportunities to practice using text evidence and background knowledge to draw conclusions. I especially appreciate how the activities guide students through the thinking process needed to make strong inferences. It has worked really well during small groups, independent practice, and literacy centers. My students are becoming more confident readers because they are learning how to look beyond the literal text and think more deeply about what they read. Overall, this is a well-organized and effective resource that supports one of the most important comprehension skills. Highly recommend for teachers looking to build strong inferencing skills with informational text!
