Description
Do your students struggle with informational text? We know they are being asked to read and understand more informational text than ever before. To help you out, I put together an Informational Text Toolbox. These "teaching tools" will help your students read, understand, and use informational text.
This Informational Text Toolbox is jam packed with everything you need to teach, practice, and review information text throughout the whole year! It is filled with tools to help you go from whole class instruction to student application and practice.
To meet different teaching styles, I created anchor charts in 3 different versions. One is ready to print and use in your lesson. One has the headings so you can write in the information as you teach. And one has only the title, so you have the freedom to write in everything else, just the way you like it!
❤️ Instructions for how to print a large poster is included!
✏️Anchor Charts Topics:
•Types of Informational Text (narrative, expository, persuasive and procedural)
•Text Feature Overview (organize text, graphics, fonts and facts)
•Organize Text (table of contents, index, glossary, heading/subheadings
•Graphics (photographs, illustrations, diagrams, labels, captions)
•Fonts (bold, italics, color, size, underline)
•facts (maps, tables or charts, graphs, timeline)
✏️Student Activities:
•Informational Text Museum Walk (narrative, expository, persuasive and procedural)
•Hot on the Trail, text feature search
