I have been in education for 3 years. The first year I was a tutor, the second year I taught kindergarten and now I teach 5th grade science. I teach in a title 1 district in Austin, Texas.

I love creating lessons that get my students up and moving. I enjoy activities that involve investigating and critical thinking as well. Personally, my teaching style is a very large mix of many styles. I enjoy direct teaching but I like the lessons to involve student discussion, critical writing opportunities, a firm understanding of vocabulary and time to communicate their thoughts and questions. There are also days when we are in stations only and I am working in small group and other days when I give them a task and no directions, and all they do is explore.

I went to Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and earned my bachelors in Animal Science and Biochemistry. I then completed my alternative certification through Texas Teachers Association.
