What is Backwards Decoding?

Backwards decoding is a blending strategy where students read the rime then the onset. This makes students really notice specific sounds in words.

This includes 29 word slides.

I love to use these with my small reading intervention group. This strategy really helps students focus on the sounds and show students how words are built.

What's great about Power Point and Google Slides...you can delete or add slides if you like!
