Interactive Math Journal Notes for Numerical Patterns (without graphing)
Share

Description

This product is an interactive journal entry for Additive & Multiplicative Numerical Patterns in input/output tables (TEK 5.4C & 5.4D without graphing).

This product includes two entries that practice:

  • recognizing differences between additive & multiplicative patterns
  • completing the tables when given a rule
  • generating a rule for given pattern in table

The notes can be used as a guided lesson as well as provide students a resource to review. I love using colors to make the entry individualized and fun!

This product is a half and full size for either spiral or composition notebooks.

Generate two numerical patterns using two given rules. Identify apparent relationships between corresponding terms. Form ordered pairs consisting of corresponding terms from the two patterns, and graph the ordered pairs on a coordinate plane. For example, given the rule “Add 3” and the starting number 0, and given the rule “Add 6” and the starting number 0, generate terms in the resulting sequences, and observe that the terms in one sequence are twice the corresponding terms in the other sequence. Explain informally why this is so.
