Description

PHYZ

This is part of the classroom curriculum I developed for use with my high school physics students.

SPRINGBOARD

The instructor guides students through this activity via classroom discussion. The activity is a springboard for that discussion. This is not intended as a homework or independent activity.

INTRODUCTION TO POWER

This is a simple, brief introduction to the concept of mechanical power using the lifting of metal balls as examples. Power is shown to be directly proportional to work and inversely proportional to the time in which the work is down. Units are discussed, and sample calculations are worked through.
