Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to have your students practice finding an inverse for a function? This paper chain activity is exactly what you need!

In this scavenger hunt style activity, students will create a paper chain. Students will practice finding the inverse of functions. This activity includes linear, powers, radicals, and rational functions. Students will answer a total of 16 questions.


How does the paper chain activity work?

  • This activity has 16 problems.
  • Students start on Strip A that says "START" and answer it.
  • They look on the other strips to find where that answer is located. It could be anywhere on the remaining 15 problems.
  • Once they find it, they answer the question that is on that strip.
  • They will then connect the second strip to Strip A to create a paper chain.
  • The will then repeat the process until all questions have been answered.
  • This activity is self-checking since students have all of the answers in front of them.
