Use this lesson plan as part of a world religions unit, or on its own. The lesson covers two sessions—one with a focus on the early history and beginnings of Islam and one on the holiday of Ramadan. The first lesson features a PBS documentary on the start of Islam, with which students will use a worksheet to help them follow along and jot down important points. I designed this originally for my 6th graders, but this lesson is great for older grades as well. This bundle includes the lesson plan with a link to the documentary, a note-taking sheet for the documentary, a PPT on Ramadan, and a note-taking sheet on Ramadan.
