Description

Kindergarten and Pre-K math and reading! Great summer math and summer reading project to prevent the summer slide! Engaging math scavenger hunts! Differentiated math for kindergarten and Pre-K

The Pre-K & Kindergarten Summer Math Scavenger Hunt is a great way to help prevent the summer slide and prepare your child for Kindergarten and/or First Grade! Your kids will love practicing their math and reading skills in these fun scavenger hunts! A perfect activity for summer school and homeschool and for summer practice! You can do it at home, at a park, on a road trip—anywhere! This can be done digitally, but I strongly recommend parent/guardian support to help students with typing. Using the printable version will help students practice writing their numbers and letters which is a critical skill for Pre-K and Kindergarten.

There are 7 different “Scavenger Hunts” included which give your students practice with counting concepts, more or less, letter identification, number identification, concepts of greater than and less than and more! The scavenger hunts included are:

  1. Rainbow Hunt
  2. Number Hunt
  3. 2-D Shape Hunt
  4. 3-D Shape Hunt
  5. Bigger/Smaller Hunt
  6. On/Off Hunt
  7. Alphabet Hunt

Each scavenger hunt includes directions, one writing page, one page to keep track/tally, one page to practice writing numbers and one question page. Each scavenger hunt includes two extension activities! Students go on a scavenger hunt looking for different things around the room/house/outside/apartment! These scavenger hunts can be done at home or in the classroom! They are great for math centers or at-home practice. You can have students work on these independently or with a partner. Students can do one scavenger hunt at a time. You can even have students practice graphing their results for fun!

The entire project is aligned to standards K.CC.A.1, K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.4, K.CC.C.6, K.CC.C.7, K.MD.A.2, K.MD.C.4, K.G.A.1, K.G.A.2, K.G.A.3, L.K.2c, L.K.2.d & RF.K.1d.

The project opens as a ZIP file and includes a printable PDF version (with answer key) and a digital version with link to Google Slides version of the scavenger hunt!
