I split this activity up in a few steps, so we could work on it as a whole group. Each student colored the lady bug red during arrival work, so then we were able to cut them out. I prepped the pages so the addition portion was on the bottom of a paper, so they could glue on their lady bugs. As a whole group we came up with numbers that equal 10. (e.g. 5+5. 4+6, 7+3, 9+1) We made the whole list and I did my example. I put 5 circles on one wing and 5 circles on the other wing. I had the visual in the front, as well as the math problems on the board for them to use to support themselves in their spot making, as well as their math problem. They loved it and were confident in themselves that were able to add!
