Writing Prompt: How can you be a leader at school?
Includes:
- Example
- Brainstorm Web
- Outline
- Final Draft Paper
- Checklist
- Easy 20 Point Grading Rubric
Directions: I use this resource to teach about the importance of being a leader at school. I start letting students brainstorm using the web organizer different ways they can be a leader. They will use their favorite ideas to create their graphic organizer. The organizer allows students to plan out their paragraph so they don’t forget any important parts. At this point ,I will show the class the student example outline. Students will work independently or with a partner to create their outline, rough draft, and final draft. When they have finished they can use the student writing checklist to make sure they have met all the requirements. The student checklist states all of the things that will be graded according to the rubric. The final grade is broken into 20 points for easy grade calculating. What I love about this resource is that it teaches students the importance of being a leader while practicing their writing skills!
