I use this to practice the letter sounds in The Reading Lesson. It works like this: I teach the sounds in the chapter until my student is fairly accurate but not yet quick at identifying the sounds. I give him the timed test for the chapter. Each timed test has 20 sounds in random order. I mark down the time it took for all 20 examples using a stopwatch. I write down the time in the tracker (see my other listing, its FREE). Each time he beats his record I mark down the time in the tracker. If he beats his record, sometimes he gets a candy, sometimes he doesn't.
