Line Designs Assignment: Perpendicular and Parallel Lines
Share

Description

This is an integrated art/math assignment that I created for grade 7 students to serve as both a teacher assessment tool and a reflective piece for my students. The assignment is intended to be assigned after the students have learned and are comfortable with the variety of methods to draw parallel and perpendicular lines.

Using a piece of paper with 4 diagonal parallel lines, students will create a design using only parallel and perpendicular lines. This could also be modified or extended to include perpendicular and angle bisectors as well. They will then complete a written component including a self-reflection and summary of methods.

This document includes the student assignment sheet detailing all expectations and necessary steps, the marks criteria sheet, and the diagonal line sheet to give to students.
