This package includes instructions and explanations for 10 fun and easy games that you can play in your class with either very few or no materials.
Many of these games I learned during my days as a day camp leader and they are always crowd pleasers. As a substitute teacher, I now use these games as brain breaks or whole class "rewards" for getting our work done early or good behaviour.
For each game I have provided information regarding the necessary equipment, approximate time, instructions
This is an integrated art/math assignment that I created for grade 7 students to serve as both a teacher assessment tool and a reflective piece for my students. The assignment is intended to be assigned after the students have learned and are comfortable with the variety of methods to draw parallel and perpendicular lines.
Using a piece of paper with 4 diagonal parallel lines, students will create a design using only parallel and perpendicular lines. This could also be modified or extended to

This product contains everything necessary to play "SPLAT!", an awesome unit hook/introduction or vocabulary review game that was a huge hit with my grade sevens!
"SPLAT!" is a basic vocabulary game that gets students thinking, moving, and working together as a team....it also gives them a chance to have fun and be a little silly! :) I used this game as an introductory hook to get my students excited about our upcoming unit on ecosystems but it could easily have been used as a review game.
This is an activity I did with my grade 7 students in order to both activate and assess prior knowledge at the start of our our unit on ecosystems. It could also easily be used as a mid-unit check in or an excellent starting point for end-of unit discussions or debates. This activity is great because it keeps all students engaged and active at all times and is a fun way to respond to questions.
In this package I have included a lesson plan for the graffiti activity and a list of 5 big picture
This is a short worksheet I gave to my grade 7 students to practice their question asking skills using the phrases ‘est-ce que’ and "‘qu’est ce que…".
The students filled this out after a lesson spent modelling and practicing asking questions using these phrases and it was an excellent way for me to check their understanding.
This is a basic 5 question survey/questionnaire that I created to help me get to know new tutoring students better. The questions are designed to help provide you with a basic sense of the student's strengths, interests, and potential anxieties in order to plan your lessons and accommodate your teaching style to best support each student.
While this was originally created for use as a private tutor, it would be an excellent survey to hand out to a new class in order to begin to develop your le
