Description
Line plot guided notes that your students can refer to over and over again during their statistics unit! Also known as a dot plot, this line plot guided note resource is fill in the blank and provides an example that students can do with you. These notes are great for students to refer back to when analyzing data on their own or in small groups. Students will be able to remind themselves, via the guided notes, all that line plots can do for them like finding sample size, visually seeing the mode, and determining mean, median, and range. Three versions provide different number lines so that you can determine which would best suit your students’ needs. Within these examples you are given a version with a blank line, a number line just with the tick marks, and a number line with the numbers already included. Students may have to create their own number lines at some point during your statistics unit so you can determine how much scaffolding is needed in that first example you do together. The line plot guided notes are great for your sixth grade math classroom but can also be used in other grade levels when doing data analysis. Teacher answer key is included!
What’s included:
- Statistics - Line Plot Guided Notes (3 versions with various stages of a number line)
- Teacher Answer Key
Great reference tool for students!
- Step by step how to instructions for making a line plot
- Talks about the importance of a line plot and what you can do with line plots
- Example for students to use
