Description

- Great for online and distance learning! Created to be compatible with Google Slides™!

- In this digital activity, Students will identify the rate of change and the initial value of linear functions. Students will construct the equation of a real-life situation given a word problem and answer questions using their equation. Students will compare two linear functions and solve problems based on the comparison.

- This activity includes 25 different problems to solve over four slides. They will drag and drop their answer to the appropriate blanks. The slides progressively increase in difficulty from identifying the rate of change and the initial value of a given equation to determining the equation of a word problem to answering questions from a word problem and also comparing two different real-life situations.

This was a great activity. I am trying to use BTC in my class some this year, and this worked into it really easily. It was great, and really helped my kids connect the skills.

This assignment was hard to follow, it didn’t print correctly and honestly the instructions were difficult out follow. I printed it out and it is definitely more for online learning rather than in person. Do not really recommend for an in person learning assignments.

I am sorry for your troubles with this assignment! I would love to make the directions much more clear if you have suggestions. I would love to hear them at mathatthecore@gmail.com. Also, this assignment was geared specifically for online/interactive use with Google Slides, not for paper. I’m sorry if that was not clear enough.

Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output. The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output.
Compare properties of two functions each represented in a different way (algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by verbal descriptions). For example, given a linear function represented by a table of values and a linear function represented by an algebraic expression, determine which function has the greater rate of change.
Interpret the equation 𝘺 = 𝘮𝘹 + 𝘣 as defining a linear function, whose graph is a straight line; give examples of functions that are not linear. For example, the function 𝘈 = 𝑠² giving the area of a square as a function of its side length is not linear because its graph contains the points (1,1), (2,4) and (3,9), which are not on a straight line.
