Description

A fun and visual way to target and support children’s reading, writing, phonemic, and phonological awareness skills. Practice reading words with long vowel silent –e by providing written words using the phoneme cards and Elkonin boxes provided. The boxes will provide visual supports to develop phonological awareness skills including segmenting and blending sounds while reading. Practice encoding words by providing the child with an orally presented word or use the picture cards provided as the targeted word. The child can then manipulate the phonemes provided to encode the target word. Additionally, use the Elkonin boxes and phonemes provided to target phonological and phonemic awareness skills including phoneme isolation, segmenting, blending, rhyming, and sound manipulation through addition, deletion, and substitution.
