GOOGLE DRIVE – GOOGLE CLASSROOM FILES

This resource includes Google App compatible files:

• Presentations saved as Google Slides

• Scaffolded and Modified Notes saved as Google Docs

• One Summative Exam saved as a Self-Grading Google Form

Important Notes about Google App Files

• The Google App files are 100% editable

• The download includes directions to access and make copies of the Google App files

• Due to file size limits, the presentations and notes are separated into multiple files

• Slides and notes are organized into lessons according to the planning and pacing

• The Self-Grading Google Form exam is undifferentiated. Edit questions at your discretion

• Diagrams in the notes are saved as drawings in the docs so to be manipulated by students

Why is it necessary to have these files available if Google Apps open Microsoft Office files?

The Microsoft Office files in this download have been converted so to preserve the aesthetics, images and videos (when applicable). When uploading to Google Drive, text boxes may be resized or shifted, images may be deleted or corrupted and embedded videos do not play. I have corrected these errors so the quality of the presentation and notes are preserved. Also, file size limits may prevent you from uploading an entire presentation to your Google Drive. I broke apart the presentation and notes into manageable “chunks” that can be used for individual lessons.

To upload the files from this download to your Google Drive, you should use the Google Drive for Desktop App. You CANNOT directly upload the folders of lessons to your Google Drive within a web browser. You can manually copy and sync the files but this requires more user effort. Video directions are included and can be viewed in a web browser: https://bit.ly/3SK6RNm

The Magnets and Electricity PowerPoint, Notes & Exam - Google Slides has been a valuable resource in my high school special education class! The PowerPoint presentation is clear and easy to follow, breaking down complex concepts like electricity and magnetism into manageable sections that my students can understand. The accompanying notes are well-organized, and the Google Slides format makes it simple to share and adapt the material for different learning needs. The exam provides a good opportunity for assessment, and it’s designed to be accessible to students at varying levels of understanding. This resource has been a great tool for making science content more engaging and accessible, and I highly recommend it for any special education classroom!

I appreciate that this bundle includes easy to understand PowerPoint slides with a choice of differentiated note pages. This works great for my special education high school students. The Bell Ringer products also go along with the Power Point slides. The resource is easy to use because they are editable. The Exam at the end of a unit is useful. Finally, a bonus is always having an answer key. I have many of your products.

Questions & Answers

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
NGSS3-PS2-3
Ask questions to determine cause and effect relationships of electric or magnetic interactions between two objects not in contact with each other. Examples of an electric force could include the force on hair from an electrically charged balloon and the electrical forces between a charged rod and pieces of paper; examples of a magnetic force could include the force between two permanent magnets, the force between an electromagnet and steel paperclips, and the force exerted by one magnet versus the force exerted by two magnets. Examples of cause and effect relationships could include how the distance between objects affects strength of the force and how the orientation of magnets affects the direction of the magnetic force. Assessment is limited to forces produced by objects that can be manipulated by students, and electrical interactions are limited to static electricity.
NGSSMS-PS2-3
Ask questions about data to determine the factors that affect the strength of electric and magnetic forces. Examples of devices that use electric and magnetic forces could include electromagnets, electric motors, or generators. Examples of data could include the effect of the number of turns of wire on the strength of an electromagnet, or the effect of increasing the number or strength of magnets on the speed of an electric motor. Assessment about questions that require quantitative answers is limited to proportional reasoning and algebraic thinking.
NGSSMS-PS2-5
Conduct an investigation and evaluate the experimental design to provide evidence that fields exist between objects exerting forces on each other even though the objects are not in contact. Examples of this phenomenon could include the interactions of magnets, electrically-charged strips of tape, and electrically-charged pith balls. Examples of investigations could include first-hand experiences or simulations. Assessment is limited to electric and magnetic fields, and limited to qualitative evidence for the existence of fields.
