This set of 60 task cards with questions to guide thinking will help your students as they develop the skill of making predictions. The ability to make predict outcomes based on evidence and prior knowledge is a key reading comprehension skill, critical to understanding both fiction and non-fiction texts.

Here's what this reading comprehension set includes.
* Sixty 4”X5.25” task cards
* 10 bonus cards that are not included in the full page set
* A list of suggestions for using task cards
* Three reproducible pages for practice or assessment purposes.
Here are some ideas for using these making predictions cards in your classroom.
* Use a card with your document camera to model the process of integrating schema with new information.
* Use them in tutoring, homeschooling, or for other one-on-one practice and review.
* Pair students to discuss the cards. Several of the cards have directions designed specifically for partner use.
* For fun and movement that your students will love, play a modified game of Scoot! Set a timer for two minutes. Partners move around the classroom, discussing each card until the timer buzzes and they move on to the next one.
* Place the cards in your writing center as prompts for students discuss and write with partners, or to complete independently,
* Make every moment count! Keep cards handy to use when redirecting between activities, waiting to be called to an assembly, waiting for your Buddy Class to arrive, etc.
* Have students pull a card from a bag without looking and send it home for practice writing predictions.
* Place several of these cards in your substitute folder to display and discuss with your class … no prep for you and no papers left for you to grade!
