Description
Making Sentences Using Present Continuous develops, reading, word order, sentence construction and vocabulary. This is a useful distance learning resource. There are 65 drag and drop task cards. The sentences have different action illustrations. Describing what is happening in the task cards becomes more complex by having an increasing number of words to use in the sentences.
The task cards have the following number of words.
1-14 (3 words) 15-16 (4words) 17 54 (5 words) 55- 65 (6 words)
All students who are learning to construct written sentences will benefit from using this resource.
As students who are learning English as an Additional Language often have difficulty with writing sentences and in particular with word order, this interactive activity provides opportunities for placing the words in a different order until the correct sentence is constructed.
Students can work individually at their own pace and as the task cards are self-correcting, if they persist, they will always be able to achieve success.
These digital task cards could be great on a laptop, desktop, Chromebook, tablet or any other mobile device that can access the internet. They can even be used on a Smart Board. There is no printing, laminating or storage. All you need is access to the internet.
This product includes
1. A LINK to 65 digital task cards on ordering words to make a sentence to describe a picture (one card per slide) on the Boom Learning website.
2. Teacher notes on how to use these BOOM cards in your classroom.
Have a look at the thumbnail images and the preview to get a better idea of what the task cards look like. When you click on view preview, it will bring up a demo file at the bottom left hand side of the screen. Click on the demo. This will open up. Look for the blue rectangle which says ‘Click HERE to view preview.’ Click on this rectangle. Then click on slideshow and click on from current slide. Page 2 then fills the screen. Click again on the blue rectangle and this will take you to the preview in Boom Learning, where you can try out four of the task cards. When in the Boom Learning site, to try out4 of the cards, you need to click on Full sized preview. (As the first 4 cards have only 3 words, you will not be able to try out the cards with more words to be repositioned.)
