"I love having the cards available for students to use to practice operations with golden beads. It definitely helps build independence. I also use them to come up with static and dynamic problems on the fly. Thanks for this awesome time-saving activity! "

Description

These color-coded math operations task cards instantly let teachers and students know what kind of problem and whether it is static (solid line) or dynamic (double line).

In Montessori we use color coding to aid the child in choosing independent work:

Addition = Red

Multiplication = Yellow

Subtraction = Green

Division = Blue

These cards can be used with the Montessori Golden Beads (included in this bundle only, not with single sets) or other math manipulatives.

Prerequisites

Students should have completed extensive work with the golden beads and large number cards, fetching, and exchanging.

Additionally, these cards should only be used after a child has had an initial presentation in each operation to ensure they understand the concepts of adding, multiplying (repeated addition), subtraction (taking away), and division (dividing equally). If a child is having trouble grasping any of these concepts, it is best to re-present and do not introduce the cards until you are confident they can work independently. (Of course, some teachers like to use the cards for themselves to make coming up with equations on the fly easier!)

Product Preparation

If you want to print these cards double-sided I recommend testing your printing configurations first to ensure they print in the correct direction.
