Description
How I teach math:
- Hook (a book, personal story, or a prompting question)
- Notes
- Practice
This product is the note page on Long Division. The notes go over using the algorithm. It is broken down STEP by STEP, students get to practice it twice in the notes. The answers are included in the zip file.
You are downloading the PowerPoint document. It is completely customizable to your class' needs. You can use special numbers (student birthdays, school address, etc). In addition to that you can add commas or spaces for big numbers (10 000 vs 10,000) depending on what your school encourages.
Adaptations: I print copies with more parts filled in as an adaptation. That way the students can focus more on listening and understanding, rather than copying exactly. Often these students also love the fact that they have an "answer key" and are then able to answer questions I pose to the class.
Notes for Division:
Lesson 1: Division Review: 5 strategies
Lesson 2: Division with remainders: 4 strategies
Lesson 3: Long division: algorithm
Lesson 4: Division 3 digit by 1 digit: 3 strategies
