This journal contains 34 challenging math problems designed to 1.) build students' metacognitive skills and 2.) to encourage written communication of the problem solving process. There are also 5 Bonus Puzzlers. Each problem can be worked on independently or in a collaborative group. This product was originally created for 4th grade, but could be used for end of the year in 3rd or beginning of the year in 5th. Math Autobiography page (beginning of year) and a Math Reflection page (end of year) are included so a student can compare where they started the year and how far they've come in Math. Also, a number writing practice page is included. Math skills included in the problems include: number patterns, geometry, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, tables, graphing, multi-step problems, place value, probability, measurement, logical reasoning, and decimals.
