Description
This resource was created as a way of helping 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students become more proficient, adept, and skillful with using key math vocabulary words and phrases while solving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division word problems.
How much of the 6 Steps for Math Problem Solving Success do your students really know? This 32-task card set has been designed exclusively as a way for teachers to informally assess their students’ knowledge of the 6 steps for math problem solving success. However, before the completion of any task cards, it is strongly recommended that students have a basic understanding of how the 6 steps for problem solving process works. How It Works: A total of 32 task cards is included with this resource. Presented on each card is a scenario (and a question) regarding the 6 steps for problem solving process. Students must use their prior knowledge about each step of the problem solving process in order to answer the questions correctly.

*These task cards can be used whole class, within a small-group setting, or just as a general review. They make a great math center/rotation/station activity as well as being used as exit tickets or an informal assessment of the 6 step problem solving process.
*There are two (2) answer recording sheets included with this resource. In order to save paper, you may wish to copy these pages back-to-back (2-sided).
*Please use the 6 Steps for Problem Solving With Success Reference Poster; 6 Steps for Problem Solving Success Cut and Paste Activity; and the 6 Steps for Problem-Solving Success Make It/Take It Strips in any way that benefits the academic needs and levels of your students.
