Scoot Expanded Form Counting to 200
This in-class math game engages your students in a thrilling and educational journey through numbers. This SCOOT math game is a perfect blend of fun and learning, allowing students to represent numbers in various ways. This game aligns with Ontario's math curriculum. It can be used for grades 1-4 students but was specifically made for the grade 2 curriculum.
Gr. 2 Curriculum Expectation:
B1.1 read, represent, compose and decompose whole numbers up to and including 200, using a variety of tools and strategies, and describe various ways they are used in everyday life.
Game Overview:
Scoot challenges students to showcase their understanding of number representations in an interactive and entertaining manner. As they move around the classroom, students will encounter a series of task cards, each presenting them with a number written in expanded form.
How to Play:
- Arrange task cards around the classroom, each with a unique number.
- Students move around the room, solving the number representation challenges on the cards.
- They record their answers on individual answer sheets.
- Once all students have had a chance to answer each task card, gather for a review and discussion of the correct answers.
What’s Included in this Resource:
- 1 game of 32 Scoot cards (Expanded Form of numbers to 50)
- Two recording sheets (1-32 and 1-24). Teachers can decide how many cards they want their students to complete.
- Teacher Answer Key for each game (to make managing it easy!)
- Teacher Instructions
