Description

Students sort by size, count, and graph results! Perfect for spring/Easter kindergarten or pre-k math centers! Includes paper colored eggs! As an option, you can buy 3-4 sizes of candy/chocolate eggs. After the activity, kids have a take-home treat!

To Set Up: Provide each student the reusable Egg-Size Sorting Mat (be sure to print on white cardstock and then laminate), one worksheet to record results, and various sizes of eggs. (This is where you can differentiate a little. More capable students can have three or four sizes with 8 or 10 eggs, while others can be given lower quantities.

Once at center, each student first SORTS (by size) his/her own supply of eggs, COUNTS the number of eggs in each section, and then RECORDS results on his/her worksheet. I usually have students put an "X" in each box. The final step (usually with parent help), students complete the right side of the graphing worksheet -- determining which column contains more, less, and equal (if any).
