About the store

Experience

I have been a classroom teacher for 20 years, teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. I am a certified elementary teacher and Reading Specialist for grades K-12, with Dyslexia Specialist and OG certifications. I love creating engaging, unique, and creative activities for students!

Teaching style

I love challenging children so they can see how special they are! Activities that I create infuse together reading, writing and critical thinking activities. Working in a HOTS school (higher order thinking) has trained me well to always have higher-level concepts in the work I present to my students. By consistently setting high expectations, my students believe they can and then do! Students in my classroom can expect to work cooperatively in groups, in partnerships, and be prepared to work hard. Of course, we have lots of giggles along the way!

My own education history

In addition to holding a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and American Studies from Western Connecticut University, I also hold two Master-level degrees. One is in Educational Technology from Fairfield University, and the other is in Reading Intervention and Dyslexia Specialist Certification from Sacred Heart University.

Additional biographical information

Besides being an enthusiastic elementary school teacher, I have wonderful children who love to keep me on my toes. Together with my husband, we enjoy being outside and going to the beach every minute we get! Questions? Please email me: ThirdGradeGiggles@Gmail.com
