Description

Measurement & Data - Geometry: Matching Additive Angles {Math Center Game} 4.MD.7

This activity is a great way to allow students to practice additive angles. Students will find the measure of angle X and then they will match this to the correct answer card. This is a great math center to be used in your rotations!

Included:

48 cards creating 24 matches

Memory Match – small group math center

Students will flip all the cards upside down on a playing surface. Take turns flipping over two cards. When you have a match, keep it. Play continues until all cards have been taken. The student with the most cards wins the game.

Quick Match – small group math center

You will need 2 sets of cards, 1 for each team of 2 players. Students place their set of cards in front of them face down until someone says “Go.” Then the teams race to see who can make the matches the fastest. Then they trade and check each others answers.

Matching Angles Practice – independent math center

Lay out all the cards with degrees on them. Then one at a time draw an angle card and find the match. Continue until you have matched all the cards. Check your work.

Recognize angle measure as additive. When an angle is decomposed into non-overlapping parts, the angle measure of the whole is the sum of the angle measures of the parts. Solve addition and subtraction problems to find unknown angles on a diagram in real world and mathematical problems, e.g., by using an equation with a symbol for the unknown angle measure.
