This is a measuring area mini-unit for teaching Common Core area concepts. It covers the following area concepts:
-tiling rectangles and counting the squares to find the area
-why we multiply to find the area of a rectangle
-practice multiplying to find the area of a rectangle
-writing addition and multiplication equations for area
-an entire section full of reteaching and support materials for struggling students
