Mentor texts will demonstrate these critical skills throughout the stations and the direct instruction lesson. This is also digital resource. It can be used for distance or e-learning. The unit will contain a Google File Link Page that will provide you with a Google Doc/Slides for each activity. A video tutorial I created will provide you with some tech tools to assist you with delivering the content via distance learning.

- Two Levels:
- Lower Level Text - An excerpt from Maya Angelou's memoir with additional reading scaffolds. Stop and respond questions, discussion questions, and quiz will support students with the text.
- Upper Level Text - "A Cub Pilot" by Mark Twain.
- Both texts will ask students to 'think like a writer' while they read with guiding questions and graphic organizers to facilitate reflection and discussion opportunities.
