Description

These are the second level of menu math task cards designed for students with autism spectrum disorders. There are six task cards included in this set along with a menu. Each task card follows the same format. In each task card, there is a child "ordering" three items from a menu. All three items are listed on the menu that goes along with the task cards. Below, students write how much each item costs and how much the total order costs. In addition, students are asked if they have enough money for their order. For example, a student may be asked "If I have $5, do I have enough money to pay for my order? These task cards allow students to practice the dollar up strategy, their calculator skills, categorizing, more than/less than, and problem solving. For an added challenge, some of the menu items are not listed exactly as they appear on the order. For example, if the order includes Sprite, students will have to deduce that a Sprite falls under "Soda" on the menu. Great for addressing higher level thinking!
