Description

58 pages, CCSS, FL BEST MA.5.AR.1.2 and MA.5.AR.1.3

All four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions

Many students struggle with fraction word problems. This product was created to teach students how to solve mixed operation fraction word problems, by understanding what clue words to look for.

The power point lesson should be utilized first, along with the sort activity and anchor chart. After those are utilized, students will have unlocked the secret code in determining which operation is needed to solve fraction word problems, so they can then begin to work on answering the questions on the task cards or worksheets.

I wanted the format of this product to be very versatile, so I also created the worksheets using the exact same problems from the task cards. Options are important! Sometimes our students just need practice with a skill, and we don’t necessarily have time to do task cards. Since each worksheet has six questions, they can easily be used as some kind of mini-assessment, or as a review later in the year.

This product includes:

  • Mixed Operations Fraction word problem power point presentation
  • Mixed Operations Fraction word problem sort activity with exit slip
  • Mixed Operations Fraction word problem notebook anchor chart
  • 42 task cards
  • 7 worksheets
  • Answer keys
